When the option to approve this comment came up, I thought, what woman would not approve it? Thank you soooo much!!
Dear ms Shattuck I received your autograph thank you so much for taking the time to send it you’re a very nice lady not only do I support you as an actress I support you as a friend as well
YOu are so very welcome! It’s lovely to have friends out there in big ol’ world. I hope this message finds you happy and inspired. Best of luck and love to you. Shari
Hi Shari, I just finished watching ‘On Deadly Ground’ and you were the reason I kept watching. Love your acting and you’re very pretty! Noticed that you were born the same year as I was…..go class of 78!!! Great job Shari, and best of everything in the years to come.
Hello Shari, I am big fan of the Greer Sands series. I was wondering , are you going to be working on a 3rd novel for the series? Please do let us know 🙂
Hello Deep, I do not have another Greer Sands book planned for this time, but I will eventually do one, because I love those characters and the world they live in. Right now, I have a new book coming out June 3rd, “Invisible Ellen” the story of a woman who is overweight and unattractive who grew up with no family, so she has learned to be invisible in society to survive. It’s told in a very positive and funny way, and ultimately, she finds friendship and a better future. I hope you will enjoy as much as the others. Thanks so much for taking the time to write in.
Shari – I’ve always admired your work, going back to that “Doumani” blockbuster we all worked on – what was it called? Oh yeah, lucky me – I forgot! Thank God! :-). Anyway, I’m living in NY and developing a film that I’d like to offer you, so when the time is right, I’ll give your agent a call and we’ll go through the “dog & pony” show. God Bless, take care and hopefully we’ll be in touch in the near future. ~ Craig Vincent
Hi Craig! That masterpiece ended up being called, “Mad About You.” Funny, because I recently reconnected with Claudia Christian. I hope you are doing wonderfully, and good luck with your project. I have a new book coming out soon, so I’ve been crazy busy with promotion for that. I look forward to hearing from you again soon! Shari
I just finished reading the two Ellen books. I loved them! I hope you’ll be coming out with another one!
I did write one, but the editors did not pick it up. I’m thinking of self-publishing it because I’ve had so many requests! Thank you for making my day. Shari

If you are, please send me a message, I’ll try to dig out that photo, I didn’t keep much of my modeling stuff, but I have some. Hope you are fabulously happy! Shari
I just found out that the sexy girl in the two .38 Special videos was none other than Shari!
HI TO THE MOST BRILLANT , FEMALE IN HOLLYWOOD
Hi Shari! My name is Weber. I am from Brazil. I am watching B5 on dvd and you are great. Your new movie, Scream of the Devil, old fashioned terror, it seems great. Thanks.
Hi, Shari ~ Looking forward to reading your books! This is the first I’ve heard of them.
Peter Renaday
Hi Peter! If are free, we are having the book launch at Vroman’s in Pasadena on Thursday, (6-5) at 7 p.m. with a party afterward. I’d love it if you could join us!! Shari
I just finished Invisible Ellen. What a wonderful book! Reading it actually made me feel as good as if I’d spent the evening with a close friend. I’m already planning to buy several gift copies. I’m so glad it caught my eye at Barnes & Noble tonight!
Thank you! Official reviews are nice, but a personal note like this means the most to me. I’m so glad Ellen spoke to you, it truly comes from my heart. Shari
Great Actress
Why thank you.
Hi Shari, I am reading Invisible Ellen, and I am wondering if you have a diagram or sketch of Ellen’s apartment building. It is a character in itself, and i would love to have a reference for it, if you have one. Thank you!
Hi Liz, The only sketch I have is in my brain. let me see if I can sum it up. The building is U shaped, 5 apartments on the bottom, three on the top, hence the flat roof next to Ellen’s under which is Curtain Connie’s apt. All the apartments face the ‘courtyard’ which is almost filled with the three wooden stairways from the back doors. Ellen can look down and see into three apartments, the two across, and the one to her right. If you looked at the U from above, Ellen’s place would be on the Left, the building sits on a corner, Ellen’s street window faces one of the streets, T-bone and Cindy’s, across from her, face a narrow alley. I hope that helps! And mostly, I hope you enjoy the book! Have a wonderful summer. Shari
Thank you so much! I am really enjoying the book. I can’t wait for the sequel!
Shari, you were so hot in On Deadly Ground!
Just finished your “Invisible Ellen” book and could not put it down. Wonderful characters! More adventures for Ellen and Temerity please.
Thank you so much!! What a way to make my day. And yes, “Emerging Ellen” is at the publisher.
Dale says:
I am reading Invisible Ellen ( almost finished) I just love this book and the two girls. You write so well I feel like am watching a movie.
So glad to hear there is a sequel coming out. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Hi Dale! Thank you so much, and I’m glad to say that “Emerging Ellen” will be out next summer! It’s so kind of you to let me know that you are enjoying the book, it makes an author’s day! Best to you! Shari
I love Invisible Ellen and hope to read more about Ellen, Temerity and Justice.
Thank you Eileen!! What a wonderful way to start my day. The sequel, in which Temerity, Justice, and Ellen all figure very much, will be out next summer, so far titled, “Emerging Ellen,” but you never know about those publishers!! Thanks again and have a wonderful day! Shari
Hi Shari,
I enjoyed your site, you seem like such a nice person. I will check out you books as they look very intriguing.
Take care and good luck with all your future projects.
Katy Kim
Thank you so much Katy! I hope you enjoy my books, and I’d love to hear from you after you get a chance to read one! I recommend “INvisible Ellen” because it’s the most recent, and quite different from the others. Sweetness and light! Shari
What’s up, just wanted to mention, I loved this post. It
was funny. Keep on posting!
Dear Shari, a few minutes ago I finished reading “Invisible Ellen” and I’m so happy that I have bought this book. I’m german (so please excuse my faults) and I detected this book saturday in our bookshop. It was a real pleasure to accompany Ellen during her “development” and often I found myself in her character. Thank you very much for this novel, I will endow your book to my friends and – perhaps – the world become a little bit more attentive if everybody is a little bit more attentive. The best wishes for you and your family directly from the bottom of my german heart!
What a delight to receive this message. I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and bless you to the bottom of you german heart! Have a wonderful fall, and the sequel, “Becoming Ellen” will be out next summer! Shari
I loved Invisible Ellen. My family says I only read books that end “And They Lived Happily Ever After! ”
This book far exceeded my expectations…..thank you
Vickie, I’m like you, I like a happy ending! I’m so glad you liked Invisible Ellen and it is so kind of you to take the time to let me know. What a wonderful way to start my week! Thank you!! Shari
Hi Shari,
Just finished “Invisible Ellen” (in German) and I loved it! Tanks for that great charakters and story! Already told my friends to read it too!!
Greetings from Vienna , Austria
i love you
I love black humor and therefore enjoyed Invisible Ellen, and I look forward to reading your other novels and viewing your Scream at the Devil movie.
I forgot to add that I love thrillers and Invisible Ellen contains a good dose of that. One thing – on page 283 Irena appears to have been shot, but the only later wound mention is of her glass-sliced hand – ??
Keith.
Don’t want to give a spoiler, but let’s just say the bullet misses one lady and hits another!
hi. mam! i have seen your movie call dead on. you are looking wondrful on it. just need a autograph.
thanks!
Hi Shari, thank u for the uplifting ending, its been almost one year since Dementia took my Dad, its nice to get lost in a good book. Thank you so much !
Yolanda, first of all, I’m so sorry about your Dad, it’s hard enough to lose them when they go, but to lose them before they go is very painful and trying. I hope you have found some peace with it. Second, thank you so much for letting me know you liked the book. And I agree, a book is the perfect place to get lost, and I love a happy ending!! Blessings, Shari
Great article. I’m experiencing many of these issues as
well..
Hi I’m Paul from the UK just like to say watched you in arena as jade, very beautiful and sexy lady
Hands down, you are my favorite character on Babylon 5! Great acting, and you are a perfect fit for that role. I have never seen someone that reminds me of a lioness as much as you! Great job!
Just devoured both the Ellen books. Great characters;great stories. I am sure hoping there will be a third book….and a fourth….
the third is written, though it more about Temerity and Justice. Not sure yet if the publisher will pick it up. Depends on sales of the first two. If they don’t I’ve already promised to publish it myself in a year!! Thank you sooooo much!
I would love to learn Temerity and Justice’s back story. Need to know Ellen is doing fine though. Oh, title would be an interesting ..Finding Ellen? lol Before Ellen? lol I could go on and on.
Loved reading your book: Invisible Ellen.
Looking forward to: Becoming Ellen.
A lot of people feel like Ellen regardless of how they look.
Stephen Shattuck here. Just wondering whether or not you have any relatives in Michigan?
Yes! My cousin, who is mentioned in my last blog, actually has the family history. All Shattucks in the states are basically related, and we have some great stories in our history. Did you know Benjamin Franklin’s granddaughter married a Shattuck? Cool huh? Well, hope to hear from you again cuz.
Finished reading your wonderful book “Invisible Ellen.” Amazing characters, and storyline. “Becoming Ellen” is next to read, and I’m delighted to learn you are working on another book with these characters. I think you “made” Ellen using my life. Like Ellen, I’ve learned to cope, adjust, and fly. Thank you for your beautiful book.
Cheri, how lovely! Thank you so much. I hope, that like Ellen, you have found friends and strength in others and know that what you have to offer is as valuable as anything anyone else has!! Best, Shari
Here’s another Shattuck….I’m Bob Shattuck from Cleveland. Although I believe everyone started in Albany. Anyway, I saw some of your work a couple decades ago, and always wanted to say HI! And there you have it. By the way we all don’t want to be cousins….there was recently a Molly Shattuck (I think a Ravens Cheerleader and a teacher) who just got into trouble with the student/teacher thing. Anyhow, Happy New Year!
Yes, New York state. My Dad actually came from there, his grandfather had a dairy farm. As far as Molly goes, well, every family’s got one!
A quick check shows it doesn’t run in the blood. Molly’s a Shattuck through marriage.
Hi Shari. You’ve always had so much talent and still do. I picked up “Scream At The Devil” and it was definitely better than most demonic/exorcism films released recently. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Thanks! Next for me is a new book, this one is about a woman who is ‘successful’ in every way she’s supposed to be, but not happy! After a near death experience, she meets her spirit guide, and things change!!
Wow! I didn’t know you were still performing Shari. Just checked out a trailer on YouTube. Still acting great!
Hello, Shari! Watching ‘Arena’. Love these crazy ol’ sci-fi films! LOL! I don’t know, I think I would have joined you at the gambling table and said to heck with Earth! ; )
Had a blast making that movie. Three months in Rome! Glad you are having a retro film day! Enjoy.
Hello Shari,
I just got done reading both Ellen books and I have to say thank you for writing them. There are so many stories out there to tell, and so few really get published. I feel like Ellen is the invisible story that should get told and doesn’t get told and published enough. What made you decide to write Ellen?
so many things really. I think ultimately it was knowing so many people who have so much to give, but who are ignored in our very beauty and money oriented society. I have so many friends who many people would ‘look away’ from, but I know their heart, and their spirit, and I am the lucky one for it. Thanks for the generous message, it makes me smile inside. Shari
Hello Shari,
I just finished Invisible Ellen. As a school counselor this really touched my heart. To hear how one overcame such diversity from childhood is so inspiring. The message of people seeing past the outside (as Temerity did) and making a difference in someone’s life gives me great hope for all who may suffer at times. Thank you for writing this book.
Megan
Hi Megan,
This means so much to me. It has become such an important factor in my life to see the worth in everyone, and this affirms my thoughts that people really do care and that this is our natural state, loving and compassionate. God bless you for the work you do, and thank you so much for the note! Shari
Hi Shari,
I just finished Invisible Ellen and Becoming Ellen (finished the 2nd in1 day). I loved both books. Any chance there would be a trilogy.
Melinda
Hi Melinda, sorry, somehow I miss this comment! I actually have written a third Ellen book, which features more of Temerity and Justice, but so far it hasn’t been picked up by the publisher. I have another new book out at publishers now, so we’ll see what happens!! Thank you so much for your lovely note. It means more than you know. Grateful, Shari
Can’t wait to see more of your sex scenes.!!!! Really hot in Scream@ the Devil..
Just seen the Babylon 5 episode you did some twenty years ago and wanted to say what a superb performance and great delivery of some politically charged lines which was so convincing. Pity that you didn’t become a regular character during that third season but such a memorable stand alone appearance 🙂
Just finished Invisible Ellen. Truly touched me. Got a little too close, but still a wonderful book! I love “happily ever after”, even tho I know better. Thanks again for the smile.
I seem to have a memory of you being on the cover of a magazine’s first issue in the mid 70’s maybe early 80’s. I think it might have been called Platinum but not sure. Can you recall it?
Wow. Good spotting, I barely remembered that and I certainly don’t have a copy. I’m impressed!
I loved your book Invisible Ellen. I loved that I could relate to Ellen. She is just so likeable and her best friend is a hoot and a holler. Well developed characters. So glad I picked it up on a whim. Thank you.
Made my day, thank you!! So glad you enjoyed it. What a kind person you are to take the time to write. Smiling now!!
Please write a third book in the Ellen series. How about Being Ellen? The first two were incredible! I want, no need, more of these amazing characters.
So funny, I did write a third but Being Ellen or Emerging Ellen was my name for the second, though the publishers changed it. The book was not picked up by the publishers due to mediocre sales on the first two. But I might self-publish, I’ve had so many requests. Or…perhaps a different publisher, mmmmm. Thank you so much!! Shari
Hmm it looks like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just
sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying
your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the
whole thing. Do you have any tips for rookie blog writers?
I’d certainly appreciate it.
Hi there, thank you! My only advice is to write! And learn to tag effectively. I’m not great at that promo stuff, but writing the sporadic blog helps me get a hit of reaction between novels, which can be a year or three! Now get out there and start typing!! Shari
I loved the Ellen books. You captured the essence of this special person. Will there be more Ellen books so that we can continue to see her find herself and develop.? Please.
I hope so! Out to publishers now, though book three is more about Temerity and Justice. Lost my editor at Putnum so we are shopping a new publisher. Thanks for
The kind message. Best, shari
I loved both books of Ellen. Will there be a sequel involving Rupert?
Yes, I hope!! The third book involves Temerity and Justice more than Ellen and Rupert has a nice expanded part! Fingers crossed, it’s out to publishers now!! Thanks for the message, it means so much. shari
Hello Shari, Congrats on All Your Amazing Accomplishments!! I believe the last time we saw each other was in 1971…At “The Igloo” on Roswell Rd. Holding hands ice skating, before You had to practice for a show.
Then later watching You perform in that show with such beauty. Such a fond memory. I remember being thrilled seeing Your PLAYBOY Cover long ago. Then decided to Google You tonight(3-19-18) Would love to hear back from You if at all possible.
I just hope You might remember Me..?? Lol! I know its been awhile…Thanks!!
Longshot, but I have been looking for a song you did back in 1989 called “Living in the galaxy” – its in the film ARENA.
Around 30 mins in the film, that song comes on, and its amazing.
But it never appeared on the soundtrack…if you happen to have it, email me if you can — thanks a ton!! (whipptz@yahoo.com)
Hi Jac! Actually, it’s a funny story. My friend Paolo Rustacelli wrote the song, since he speaks very broken english, the words he chose were just filler to illustrate, but the director and I both thought the words he wrote were oddly wonderful and appropriate so we kept them! I never had a copy of just the song, so the film iitself is the only copy I can think of. I kind of loved it too, and strangely, I can still recall most of it sitting her on my deck today! Thanks so much for writing me and I’m sorry I don’t have more information for you. You might try googling Paolo! Best, Shari
Has anyone ever commented on the resemblance you bear to the actress Susan Oliver who was in the Star Trek pilot The Cage? I was watching B5 with your performance as the political officer (which has a chilling reverb these days.) I actually wondered if she was your mother until I saw she never had children. kind regards Ed
No relation. But now I’m curious! One of my great regrets in my acting career was booking a two part guest star on Star Trek but the shoot overlapped a movie by two days and the movie producers wouldn’t shift my schedule. So I give up the Star Trek, go to location to have them tell me filming was delayed three days! Oh well, thanks for the comment, Shari
I concur! A lot of Susan in Shari’s face. Excellent observation.
I am in South Carolina right now and i was born in Florida and my dad charles shattuck said he as met you before and my mom tiffani shattuck told me about you and well my dad ofc and I thought it was so cool i was related to someone famous and my dad s side of the family is leaving in Georgia
Hello Logan! Sorry it took me a couple of days to reply, I’ve been traveling quite a lot! So….where are you in South Carolina? My sister and my dad now live in Charleston. So you’ve got family close by! Is your Georgia family from Atlanta? That’s where I was born. I wouldn’t say I’m famous. More like, I used to be on TV or in films sometimes. I love writing books now, are you a reader?
I. Loved. Invisible Ellen. How one coincidence at the right time and place can set a new course for life that we never expected. A Man Called Ove was my 2019 favorite and Invisible Ellen will be a book I’ll be sharing for 2020. What an adventure.
Man called Ove was one of my favorites too!! What a brilliant comment for me. Thank you thank you!
