It was quite wonderful actually. He was a gentleman and lots of fun, always teaching extras karate moves or just chatting. He would watch me fooling around on the set and say, “You’re funny. I’m going to put you in a comedy.” But by the end of the film, he swore he’d never direct again. Too much trouble with the studio, I think. And too much work!!
